The fast paced glory of New York is totally in tune with Jay's life style. However, he does seek adventure outside of it. Jay cherishes the days of driving along the North Shore of Oahu with his best mates, fishing with his dad in the oceans by The Florida Keys, and bathing under waterfalls in Vieques, PR. Due to the grueling, inconsistent weather he has endured in the city, it's important for him to go back to his tropical roots.

When he's not working on a project or exploring the city, you might stumble across Jay shredding the ukulele at open mic nights around the city.  Along with being a singer/sognwriter, he also writes short plays/screenplays, some which have been produced. Jay named his Ukulele in honor of the first open mic he played which was at wonderful venue in St. Augustine, FL. The name is "Planet Sarbez".

One of Jay's proudest moments as an artist was working on a spanish speaking role for a special studies program called UNITE; produced by Center for HIV Educational Studies & Training (CHEST) and Mindful Designs production company.

"CHEST will establish a cohort of approximately 8,000 HIV-negative MSM across the U.S. and Puerto Rico and follow them over time to better understand factors that influence HIV seroconversion that could help guide future interventions. Because they are the group most impacted by the domestic HIV epidemic, recruitment efforts will be focused on enrolling large numbers of Black, Latino, and Multiracial YMSM into the study. Importantly, the study will also be conducted in both English and Spanish "

Jay continues to be involved in more important projects by Mindful Designs and CHEST.
